I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues providing services that span from therapy for depression and grief counseling to parenting support, couples counseling and beyond. In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my clients individual needs to help attain the personal growth they’re striving for.
For couples where both parties are fully invested in working on the relationship I use primarily Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and may often use Gottman material as well. This therapy will involve some initial individual sessions and then primarily working in the triad of couple and therapist. I begin the process with a review of what makes good communication work.
For couples who are in crisis and there has been an affair or there is one party 'leaning out' of the relationship, I use Discernment Counseling. More information will be coming to this page soon on this treatment type.
For individuals who are suffering from traumatic memories that are disrupting their present life, I use Eye Movement and Reprocessing (EMDR). This approach has also been helpful in treating other areas such as anxiety.
For many issues I use approaches that utilize aspects of mindfulness, self-awareness, and solution-focused brief therapy. For each client, I create a treatment plan that both client and therapist collaborate on to be sure that goals and objectives are met for therapy.
